Basics
What is Discria?
Discria is an adaptive learning app. You create topics, attach your own sources — folders, files, textbook PDFs, optionally web research — and Discria generates multiple-choice questions as a learning game. What makes it special: Discria doesn't just spot which topics are tripping you up, it also checks whether the wording of a question was the problem. It creates two variants (A/B) and permanently keeps the one that works better for you.
How does Discria adapt to my learning style?
Discria uses statistical, individual, and AI signals to measure which questions and topics actually hold you back — not just how often you answered incorrectly. Based on this, Discria deliberately targets your weak spots in the next quiz and adjusts question frequency. It also checks whether a poor answer was down to the topic itself or the wording of the question (wording A/B test).
What does "wording A/B test" mean?
When you repeatedly get a question wrong, Discria asks: is it the subject matter — or the way the question is phrased? Discria automatically creates an alternative wording of the same question (variant B), presents both variants across different sessions, measures which one you answer better, and permanently keeps the better fit. The weaker variant is discarded. This way the quiz questions themselves adapt to your individual learning style.
AI & sources
Which AI does Discria use?
By default, Discria uses our own hosted AI — servers in Germany, AI processing in the EU. Your content never goes to third-party AI providers. Optionally, you pick your own model — including one that runs fully local on your machine (e.g. via Ollama).
Do I need a powerful computer?
No. The default AI runs in the cloud — a browser is enough, no installation, no special hardware. Only if you opt for a locally running model does speed depend on your own machine.
What sources can I attach?
You can attach folders, individual files, and large textbook PDFs — Discria fully processes documents hundreds of pages long. Optionally, Discria can independently perform web research to enrich a topic with current knowledge. Discria works exclusively on your own materials, not on a third-party content library.
Data & platforms
What happens to my data?
Your materials and learning progress live in your Discria account on servers in Germany — and they belong to you: no sharing with third parties, export and deletion anytime. If you choose the local model option, AI processing stays entirely on your device.
Does the AI learn from my data?
Discria learns how you learn: your answers shape your personal learning profile, which controls which questions you get and how they are phrased. The language model itself is never trained on your content — your material stays yours.
Which platforms does Discria run on?
Discria runs in the browser — no installation, on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Details on minimum requirements will be announced with early access.
